Tennis has been a popular sport for decades, but in 1958, an American physicist named William Higinbotham created something that would change the way we interact with entertainment. Tennis for Two, also known as Computer Tennis, is considered one of the first video games in history. This game was not only a pioneer in its genre but also marked the beginning of digital interactivity, a concept that has become essential in modern video game development.

Higinbotham's idea came while working at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Upon learning that the Donner Model 30 analog computer could simulate trajectories with wind resistance, he decided it was time to create a game that could draw a crowd during the lab's annual public exhibition.
