The Big Festival is about to arrive on Sodor, and the Fat Controller assigns each of the engines their tasks for the day. Thomas, Percy, and Gordon need to be cleaned and repaired in the Engine Shed. Thomas doesn't miss the opportunity to joke with Gordon about how tank engines don't require turntables. This mention is due to a strong wind that caused Gordon to spin around incessantly, causing laughter among the others.
At the quarry, Thomas and James face a rockslide blocking the track. Fortunately, Harold the helicopter arrives to the rescue and helps clear the way quickly. With the road clear, Thomas collects his trucks and stops to fill up with water. Despite wanting to compete in speed with Henry, when the latter zooms by, Thomas decides it might not be the best time to race.
Later, Thomas and Percy collect trucks at the docks, and Thomas takes Annie and Clarabel to the station. There, they must pick up passengers excited to attend the festival. Along the way, Thomas sees Harold near the airfield and decides to challenge the helicopter to a race to the festival, but stops to see Terence herding cows back into the fields, a sight he has always found charming.
Continuing on his way, Thomas notices some children on a bridge and suggests they go to the station. This way, he can pick them up later and take them to the festival. Together with Harold, Thomas helps set up the rides and stalls for the event. Shortly after finishing, he runs into Edward, who is somewhat annoyed at pulling trucks instead of carrying passengers.
Edward's bad mood doesn't go unnoticed, and his trucks, tired of his complaining, push him down Gordon's Hill, ending up on a dead-end track and hitting a rock. This surprises Thomas, but the situation is quickly brought under control. At the end of the day, Thomas and his friends enjoy the music at the festival, and when night falls, Thomas returns with the happy passengers to their homes.
The Fat Controller is pleased with the engines' work after such a busy day. He thanks them for their dedication and effort and gives them a well-deserved rest. The team is happy and satisfied to have contributed to the success of the Great Festival, reflecting the cooperation and camaraderie that characterizes them.
